Mum’s going too but it won’t be a holiday for her as she won’t have a carer to get him into and out of bed and get him washed. She’ll have to do that plus all the pushing of the wheelchair but won’t have to cook or wash up during this week which is a little something I guess.

They’re just going to a seaside resort on the south coast as getting insurance for dad to go abroad is now impossible and she wanted to go away somewhere where she can come home early if she can’t cope. One of her friends has volunteered to be an emergency pick-up for them if it’s too much – what a good friend to offer something like that.

I hope it goes well for them and they both enjoy themselves.

I know you can do this. You’re so strong and motivated on many things in your life and you know that the benefits in the long run are worthwhile.

All our spare cash is going into this but I will come back to this goal later…
